IMG_20230316_173854.jpg

Sonia is a 2D Visual artist from the Washington, D.C. area.

She often draw inspiration from her surroundings, she finds it grounding and leaves her with memories of everyday moments and the places she go. Sonia uses commutes to draw scenes from the MTA transit system and the people she see on my way. She also loves figure drawing and studied human anatomy extensively in order to better capture the beauty of all types of individuals.

Sonia has worked with a variety of paints and drawing materials. Her art is influenced by old masters in classical realism and contemporary pop-surrealism artists. As such, Sonia moves between vivid colors and monochrome works with dramatic shadows. Recent, Sonia is fascinated in putting her paintings on 3D functional items so it can be touched and integrated with.
